The above Quick Start guide is designed to give you all the information you need to get started experimenting with the software.
The following is a more indepth guide, but is essentially just explaining the Quick Start guide in more detail. If you completed and fully understood the Quick Start guide then there is little benefit in reading on.
Getting Started:-
Before you create your first recipe you need to create some Main and Sub Categories.
Example of one Main Category with several Sub Categories and several Recipes:-
|
Main Category :- | Lunch | |
Sub Categories :- | Fish | Steak | Salad | Egg
Recipes:- | Lemon Haddock | Beef Wellington | Scampi Salad | Egg and Cheese
Dover Sole1 | Steak Curry | Spinach | Peppered Egg
Dover Sole2 | Steak Fruit | Carrot and Cheese | .
Dover Sole Parsley | . | Honey and Mustard | .
|
|
Example:-
Lets take a look a David, one of the first to ever use our software. He is head chef of a busy restaurant in Melbourne Australia.
One of his Main Categories is "Lunch". From Lunch he has several Sub Categories including Fish and Steak.
David has decided to split his Main Categories into the 3 main meals of the day (Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Meal). In addition, his other Main Categories include Entrees, Snacks, Desserts and so on.
You can create whatever Main Categories you like. e.g. If you run a sandwich making business, you could have Main Categories like Fish, Vegetarian, Brown Bread, Bread Rolls, Hot, Cold... It is up to you.
After you create a Main Category, the next job is to create Sub Categories. So taking David's example again, in his Main Category Lunch he has Sub Categories Fish, Beef, Salad, Egg and so on.
In each of the Sub Categories you can add your recipes.
OK, so you are now ready to give it a go. If you are still a little unsure, please just give it a go and all will become clear. Use the quick start guide above.
